Can you mix expressed milk?

on November 29, 2021 .

You mamas go through so much hard work expressing that fresh milk. So we want to be sure you are storing it correctly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you express you can keep adding more fresh milk to your already freshly expressed milk in the fridge. So long as you follow these tips!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  •  Do not add to already frozen milk as the warmer fresh milk may possibly defrost the frozen milk which we don't want!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Follow the storage guidelines and keep the combined milk in the fridge. But only up to 4 days and stored in back of the fridge from the time your first milk was expressed.
  • So if you first expressed Monday morning but added to it Monday evening, Tuesday morning, Tuesday evening, Wednesday, and Thursday morning. You can still only use it up to the Friday morning as it is 4 days since the Monday morning, the first milk expressed!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Use a texta to write on the milk storage bag when it needs to be used by. What are your tips for remembering? Do you ever get confused?

Please check your countries breastmilk storage guidelines as it may range from 2-4 days in the fridge.
